Laura, a long time member of Raincity is back from some epic world travel, armed with her yoga teaching certificates. She will be starting a Yin-style, slow stretch class.
What is Yin Yoga? Think Rom-wod. It’s the perfect complement to your Crossfit and Strength training. Yin is a slow-paced style of long held poses that allows us to get into the connective tissues as opposed to more active styles of yoga, which uses muscle energy.
When poses are held for a certain amount of time, muscles experience a moderate level of stress that increases circulation in the joints and help improve flexibility. The deep connective tissues in the body will be targeted, helping to regulate the flow of energy in your body. You will practice more static poses that allow you relax while your muscles are softened and stretched.
